There are times in life when we can feel lost or overwhelmed by our feelings. This can be due to problems or circumstances that feel out of our control. Having a person to talk to who won’t judge or impose their opinions on us, can be very empowering.
Psychotherapy can help deal with issues that cause you distress or prevent you from living your life to its fullest. As a fully qualified MBACP Person-Centred psychotherapist, I can help you to explore your difficulties so that you can move forward in a more positive way. Together we can look at things from a fresh perspective and unpack the things that you are struggling with which will help you become more self-aware so that you can make informed choices and feel more in control. As a relational therapist I place much importance on the therapeutic relationship which can be immensely healing.
As you have chosen to read this page then I imagine you would like to change some aspects of your life or for them to be different. Therefore you are probably wondering if I – or therapy – can help you. Your concerns may be about difficult feelings that feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or anger, or you may be finding it a challenge to like yourself. Perhaps you’re struggling with relationships and would like to work on ways to improve how you relate to people. Or you may be coming to terms with a trauma or a loss in your life and are looking to process your experience and see a way forward. Or perhaps you simply feel that something in your life is not quite right, even though that something isn’t clear yet. People access therapy for many reasons.
Going to see a counsellor for the first time can be quite daunting and it is important that you find the right one for your needs. I usually offer a free half hour consultation face to face, but due to covid restrictions this would have to be a telephone consultation. So I am now offering the first session, which is a taster session for the cost of £15.
